HMOC Open House (SPECIAL FREE Event with Upcycling Workshops and Fashion Show!)

July 5 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join us for a very special FREE day of Victorian fun at our HMOC July 5th Open House! Come to our Open House on Sunday, July 5 th for a fun FREE Upcycle Sewing Workshop and DIY Fashion Show! Enjoy music, visiting vendors, artists showing their work, workshop, fashion show, Kellogg House tours (by donation), Blacksmith Shop demonstrations, and Nature Area and Farm tours. Timeline 11:00am-1:30pm Kellogg House Self-Guided Tours 11:30-12:30 Upcycle Sewing Workshop led by Jillon Dames teaching hand embroidery, custom hand stitching, sewing basics to personalize clothes, and repairs. Upcycle materials provided – feel free to bring your own upcycling materials or clothing for sewing and repairs. Located in the Quilter’s Cottage 12:30-1:30 DIY Fashion Show with an MC introducing models and upcycled clothing and designs. Located at the Gazebo Lawn 1:30-2:30 Community Connection: Talk with visiting vendors, artists, and resource booths. 1:30pm-2:30pm Kellogg Guided Tour w/Docent (depending on availability) HMOC & SAUSD Exhibit 7/5 & 7/19 – “A Friendship Quilt Project” Exhibit by SAUSD Lowell, Diamond, Walker, Martin Luther King, and Carl Harvey students and HMOC. Located in the Quilter’s Cottage Exhibits and Tours Adobe Blacksmith Shop Nature Area & Farm Self-guided Trails —————————————————————————————————————————– Tickets are not needed for this Open House date only —————————————————————————————————————————– **Entrance to the Museum for non-members: Your HMOC Open House admission allows you full entrance to the Museum grounds, self led Kellogg House tours during the hours that Docent led tours are not occurring as well as exterior Museum activities during the entirety of the Museum Open House hours of 11am to 3pm! Members | Free Children ages 3 and under | Free Children ages 4-13 | $5 Adults age 55+ | $10 Adults | $15 Museums for All | $2 Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 1,600 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their EBT card and a photo ID. HMOC is a site and supporter of Museums for All.
